Gordon Powles is a UK artist based on the Suffolk coast, having studied at Lowestoft School of Art and later at Camberwell College of Arts in London, graduating in 1993.

I create coastal and nautical wall art inspired by the ever-changing landscapes of the Suffolk coastline. Living by the sea has shaped my work, with a strong focus on harbours, boats, seascapes, and the meeting of land and water.

My aim is simple: to create artwork that brings a sense of calm, light, and atmosphere into your home.

Each piece is designed to capture those quiet, fleeting coastal moments—the stillness of a harbour, the movement of the tide, or the soft light across the water.

Working with oils, watercolour, and acrylics, I build up texture, colour, and light through layered brushwork. I also combine traditional techniques with photography and digital processes to create artwork that is both expressive and visually striking.
