Bude Cornwall Beach Study – Original Watercolour and Ink Painting

I wanted to capture the relaxed, coastal charm of Bude, Cornwall, in this piece. Looking across the wide expanse of the sandy beach, I was drawn to the iconic pink building and coastal structures tucked snugly beneath the grassy cliffs.

To bring this scene to life, I used soft, fluid watercolour washes paired with expressive ink linework. My goal was to give the entire study a fresh, breezy feel—capturing that crisp Atlantic air and bringing a little piece of the beautiful Cornish coast directly into your home. It’s a unique, one-of-a-kind original painting, and because it comes straight from my easel, there is only one of its kind in the world.
